Sometimes He comes so quietly.
I had a discussion in which the lady suggested that people would repent if God would split the earth and show people Hell.
I differed with her. I believe the repentance would not last more than a few months. The repentance would be motivated by fear which would wane thin after a while.
It is easy to start a relationship based on fear. But a life long relationship which is to be mutually enjoyed by both parties cannot be sustained by a constant dwelling on the fate that befalls an errant party.
One of the joys of faith is when we can move from serving the God who saved us from His judgement to serving the God we love.
Joyous faith is the twin passion of serving the God who loved us and serving the God we love.
