Heavenly Pleasure in Earthly Pursuits

Heavenly Pleasure in Earthly Pursuits
A colleague told me recently that she was surprised I had stayed so long in the same company. Well I was on my fifth year and for some reason it seemed long looking at the calendar. She said with my qualifications, I could change jobs by the numbers. Why haven’t I done that?
For certain reasons, I’ve seem my work life differently.
Scripture is replete with how we should define who we pledge our allegiance at work to. I learnt early in my work that I’ve been bought with the Blood of Christ so all I am is only all He has marked out for me.
I am therefore not under employment with my company. I am in employment under God. My company becomes my place of deployment. I’ll stay there as long as it is His desire for me.
My heart feels heaven’s pleasure everyday I show up at work. Any dissatisfaction I have on the job goes to headquarters – God. He is Senior Management – He decides what my due is and gives it to me through the company He has assigned me to.
The pursuit of work has now become a heavenly delight. This is what work should be. It should bring joy to God because it is a celebration of a life of worship.
