The Mark

Recently, I added a new activity to my lifestyle – teen-age camping, I’m on my second year in it. For this year, our theme was “Reaching for the mark” taken from Phil 3:13, 14.
I had the assignment of writing the camp theme song. It started as an assignment; it ended as an expression of my life ambition. I loved the song more because it tells the story of what I should live for. The lyrics are below:

The Mark

I am reaching
Reaching for the Mark
I am running
Running for the Prize

I keep my eyes upon the Lord
I will not be ashamed at all
In this world, I’ll walk with Him
At His return, I’ll rise in Him

Ch
O to live a life that pleases God
That’s all I ask and all I pray
In everything I do each day
I do it all for You O God

Bridge
Walking in the Spirit
And living in the Light O
O……..

I did an amateur recording on my PC. You can access it
here and here (two versions of the same song).
I am living for this song to become me, to live a life that pleases God so that in everything I do each day, I do it all for God.

Living the Hymn

More Love To thee
Third stanza of the in the hymn went thus:
Let sorrow do its work
Send grief and pain;
Sweet are thy messengers,
Sweet their refrain,
When they can sing with me
“More love, O Christ, to thee,
More love to thee!”

When I begin to see sorrow as messengers of the Almighty, then the message of the Sovereignty of God is becoming me, God is in charge of all He has created. Nothing happens outside of Him.
I may not be wise enough to know what God has planned from what He allowed.
I know very well that at His Right hand stands One who is interceding for me.
