Aslan of the Chronicles Revisited

Aslan of the Chronicles Revisited
In Book 4 of the Chronicles when Lucy meets Aslan again, she exclaims “Aslan, you’re bigger”. “That is because you are older, little one”, Aslan replies.
This mind trip is an image of our relationship with God. The older we get in a lovesick relationship with God, the bigger God becomes in our eyes.

This is more reflected in our response to Him. When we grow older in Him, we learn to take Him for granted less. Our worship of Him ceases to be just a response to Him. Our worship of Him becomes the proper response to Who of Him that He reveals to us.

Our songs of love and adoration will no longer be an irreverent expression of emotions that reduce God to the level of the Created. Our songs of love and adoration will tell the story of Who He is…Indescribable, Uncontainable, Untameable , Awesome, Uncreated.

We love the Lord and so we pursue Him intimately. The reflection of our intimacy with Him is shown in the perspective we have of Him. The bigger He becomes in our eyes … well, let’s just say, that tells us we are on our way.
