A Tale of One Family Revisited Again

A Tale of One Family Revisited Again
I still ask myself “why does God have to use the secular media to expose our sins?” Why do we have to be served our failings on the table of the evening newspapers?
The early Church was not without its moral failings (The Corinthian Saga), but it seems the matter always found its way into the natural church forum.

Could it be that we developed the discerning sight of seeing the darkness in the soul of the world and the uncomfortable blindness of seeing none in soul of the church? Have we become so spiritually gullible that a good display of charisma blinds us to the flaw within?

A good pastor once told of how he almost got into trouble with his colleagues for saying what he knew was the truth. A visiting evangelist was in town, he was having these supposedly great services lasting into the early hours. He would lay hands on people, they would fall and he would fall. Everyone was talking about inviting the evangelist to their churches. The pastor refused.
He said he discerned that the evangelist was a short-circuit appliance (metaphorically). His colleagues disagreed with his analysis; they were ready to offer the evangelist the pulpit. Weeks later, it came out that the evangelist had a very rotten life.

Let’s walk by faith and not by sight. The God of Peace will soon crush satan underneath our feet
